It’s a real thing … Brokerage Opportunities!

I. From the Land of Vicem…

The Palm Beach Boat Show approaches!

Yup, you’ll find me at the Vicem Yachts display at the Palm Beach Boat Show from March 24th through  27th.  We will have three Vicems displayed at the show:

The Vicem 65 Flybridge:

The Vicem 58 Classic:

The Vicem 50 IPS:

The latter boat, the V50 IPS, as shown in this video….

… is currently available  on the brokerage market.

I don’t have to repeat here what you all have found – That quality boats have all but disappeared from the brokerage market. Just about anything of quality that could be bought, has been bought. Nonetheless, this wonderful V50 awaits your presence  at a listing price of $1,145,000.  Her replacement cost, with a price increase coming on Day One of the Show, would be roughly $1,450,000. So, clearly savings in both time and money are quite significant.

To fully understand the opportunity that this low-hour brokerage fiberglass yacht offers to you, just ….. well, you know the drill:

As long as you have your flare gun out, I’ll also note that the The Dubai Boat Show opens today. I am not there this week, but in Dubai you can see this stunning Vicem 82 Cruiser:

She too is currently for sale.  I know this fine yacht intimately, so by all means call me for her inside scoop. With the coming Palm Beach Boat Show price increases, her replacement cost will be approximately  $5.5m. Yet her owner is now asking $3.4m. She is worth the trip, and I’m eager to join you in Dubai sometime this April.

Vicem New Build News:

Before we leave the world of Vicem today, two exciting New Build items to share:

First, for those of you who swooned over last month’s pix of Vicem’s just launched V82 Flybridge, here is her hot-off-the-press video:

She is a truly unique yacht, even by Vicem’s high standards. I’ve got quite a lot to say about her in coming blog posts, but if you can’t wait (I know, I know…) ,

Second, a bit of a surprising story for you…

Back in the 2000s people everywhere were taken aback at the fit and finish of Vicem’s smallest offerings, the private label Windsor Crafts that Vicem built exclusively for a US private-label company:

With Vicem’s decisive move into fiberglass hulls, Vicem has decided to relaunch this line of smaller yachts under its own name. The first, a “Vicem 36 Hardtop”  has just popped out of her mold and is looking for her first owner. Having undergone significant re-engineering, this fiberglass beauty can be finished for you (if you move fairly quickly) with either diesel straight shafts, or now with outboard drives!

Click away for the details:

I do have pricing on Hull #1, but it is not yet available online. So by all means call me to receive your own private pricing spreadsheet. Or, for that matter, call with any questions you have about this exciting and surprising development. I’ve been with Vicem long enough – almost from the their very beginning – that I can tell the full story of these stunning pocket yachts in helpful and effective detail. I look forward to that opportunity.

Meanwhile, here is a link to a very hard to find (but fascinating) review of the  Windsor Craft 36. I have often compared Vicem’s to fine instruments like a Stradivarius violin or a Bösendorfer piano. Well, the owner of this WC, an acclaimed classical musician, seems to have agreed with me:

II. From the land of Long Island Yachts…

Inventory-wise, what goes for quality yachts in larger sizes applies equally well to smaller yachts – There just ain’t any.

In the case of Long Island Yachts in America, brokerage boats in America (or even in Europe, for that matter) have shown near-zero availability. Well, I am pleased and surprised to report that the situation changed this month with the listing of this 2018 Long Island Yacht 25 Runabout in Newport Beach, California.

She is stunningly well-equipped, with:

  • The largest possible diesel (her 8 cylinder 370 Yanmar moves her at +30 knots)
  • Bow and stern thrusters
  • Joystick control (!)
  • Metallic gray painted finish
  • Diesel heat
  • Underwater lights

This is a rare and special pocket yacht. At the moment, and until our new 33 Runabout arrives in New York on May 1st,

this 25R is one of only two LIY Runabouts in the USA.

I find that this video – a candid and fortunately  “picky” walk-through – tells her story with great accuracy and candor:

With an asking price of $250,000, and replacement value that can be carefully analyzed right here, I can tell you with almost absolute authority that this opportunity will not last long. So, for the last time in this post today ( I promise!) …

III. From the land of  The Fog Warning…

My long-time clients will remember (and still reference, I am honored to say) the blog that preceded the one you read here today. That was Dave’s Vicem Report, published way back in 2011 and 2012. Six or eight times a year I still get emails or calls about something I happened to write about ten long years ago. Luckily, most of the time I can still answer those questions. And if I don’t remember, I usually know who to ask.

But to make it easier for all concerned, I have now appended all of the posts from Dave’s Newport Blog to The Fog Warning Blog. Just scroll back through TFW’s list of postings, and auto-magically you’ll be a time traveller.

Ciao for now, my friends. See you in PB, where there is so much to talk about.
